On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the Gabonese community in South Korea gathered at the Embassy of Gabon for the annual Samba Corée General Assembly. This key event brought together many members in a spirit of cohesion and dynamism, with the aim of reviewing the past year and preparing for the future of the association.
The event, structured and rich in exchanges, began at 2:00 PM with the welcome and installation of participants, followed at 2:20 PM by the opening speech delivered by His Excellency Mr. Landry MBOUMBA, Ambassador of Gabon to South Korea, officially marking the start of the session.
Next, the outgoing Executive Board presented its activity sector-based report, highlighting the actions taken, achievements made, and challenges encountered during its term.
One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the awards and distinctions ceremony, recognizing the most active and dedicated members in promoting and strengthening the visibility of the Gabonese community in Korea. A friendly break then allowed participants to relax and engage in informal discussions in a warm atmosphere.
The General Assembly also served as an opportunity to elect a new Executive Board for the 2025-2026 term. Those present actively participated in discussions and voting, ensuring a democratic and transparent transition.
Once the election was completed, the session continued with the closing remarks and speech by the new Board, officially marking the handover of responsibilities.
The event concluded on a festive note with a networking dinner and informal exchanges, providing members with the opportunity to strengthen their connections, share experiences, and discuss the association’s upcoming initiatives.
Through this gathering, Samba Corée reaffirms its commitment to strengthening ties among Gabonese in South Korea and continuing its work towards a more united and dynamic community.
“With Samba Corée, let us give of ourselves to build a stronger community. A good deed is never lost!”
