From May 24 to 26, the Samba-Corée Association enthusiastically participated in the 2024 edition of the Seoul Friendship Festival (SFF). This annual cultural event, organized in Seoul, celebrates international friendships and the cultural diversity represented by the various foreign communities living in South Korea. This year’s edition once again brought together participants from many countries, highlighting the richness and diversity of cultures from around the world.
The Seoul Friendship Festival 2024 offered a variety of captivating activities and performances that delighted participants and visitors. Among the highlights of the festival were:
- Cultural Performances: Each participating country presented unique cultural performances, showcasing their traditions and artistic talents. These performances provided a true cultural world tour, allowing spectators to discover the richness of the different cultures represented.
- International Food Stands: Visitors had the opportunity to explore a variety of international food stands, offering a diverse and authentic culinary experience. Each stand presented traditional dishes, allowing people to taste flavors from around the world and discover new cuisines.
- Opening Parade: The first day of the festival was marked by a colorful and vibrant parade. Participants marched in traditional costumes, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the cultures present, creating an impressive visual spectacle.
- Cultural Heritage Exhibitions: The last two days of the festival were dedicated to exhibitions showcasing the cultural heritage of each country. These exhibitions allowed visitors to discover the art, crafts, and ancestral traditions of the different participating nations, offering an enriching cultural immersion.
Gabon, represented by the Samba-Corée Association and supported by numerous volunteers, brilliantly participated in the exhibitions and interactive events. The Gabonese stand attracted attention with its captivating cultural presentations and interactive demonstrations. Visitors were able to appreciate the richness of Gabonese heritage through art exhibitions, handcrafted objects, and traditional performances, highlighting Gabon’s unique culture.
Samba-Corée‘s participation in the Seoul Friendship Festival 2024 was a resounding success. It strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Gabon and the other international communities present in South Korea. This event allowed Gabonese culture to be showcased and promoted understanding and mutual respect among the different cultures represented.
