Autumn Hike and Fellowship at Gwanaksan

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM, just before the full chill of winter settled over the peninsula, SAMBA-CORÉE organized a memorable hiking trip to Gwanaksan (관악산). Taking advantage of the final warmth and vibrant colors of autumn, members gathered for an ascent defined by nature, shared effort, and community spirit. Coordinated by the Sports and Culture Department, the initiative was designed to offer a breath of fresh air to the community while celebrating the season’s blazing landscapes before the transition into winter.

The primary objective of the outing was to activate both body and mind through a stimulating physical challenge. By tackling the steep trails of Gwanaksan, SAMBA-CORÉE created a space for disconnection from daily routines and an opportunity to strengthen bonds between Board members and active members alike. This autumn escape symbolized resilience and perseverance, core values of the association, reflected in the collective effort required to reach the rocky ridges near the summit.

The hike unfolded in an atmosphere of kindness and constant good humor. The ascent was expertly guided by Capacitence (Celly), whose knowledge of the trails ensured that the group reached the summit safely. Along the way, hikers embraced small physical challenges, supporting one another on the steepest sections with mutual encouragement and practical assistance. Upon reaching the top, participants were rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view over southern Seoul, a fitting reward for their determination. To celebrate the achievement, the group’s guide enjoyed a traditional makgeolli at the summit, adding an authentic, lighthearted, and convivial touch to the experience.

The impact of this activity at Gwanaksan has been overwhelmingly positive. Beyond the physical exercise, the day was elevated by the vibrant energy of members like Chloe, whose laughter and enthusiasm set the rhythm of the hike. The effect on collective morale was immediate. After the effort, participants gathered for a large dinner, extending the day’s exchanges in a warm and relaxed setting. The evening concluded beautifully, closing the day with a strong sense of fraternity and shared accomplishment.

The event was also a success from a communication perspective. The Communication team produced a captivating mini-video documenting the day, while numerous photographs captured amid the red and golden foliage showcased the joy and unity of the participants. These visuals have allowed SAMBA-CORÉE to present on its social media platforms the image of an active, united, and thriving association.

Money Reset 2025: Taking Back Control and Investing Intelligently

As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering its community, SAMBA-CORÉE launched the first chapter of this initiative with a powerful and impactful webinar on financial management titled “Money Reset 2025: Take Back Control of Your Money and Invest Intelligently.” The session was led by Nésie Strna, whose strong academic background in banking, finance, accounting, and corporate financial management brought both credibility and practical insight to the discussion.

Fully aware of the economic challenges faced by Gabonese expatriates and students living in Korea, the association sought to provide concrete tools to help members better manage their budgets and develop smarter investment strategies. Living abroad often comes with financial pressures from tuition and housing costs to long-term career planning and, this webinar aimed to transform uncertainty into clarity and action.

During this interactive online session, Nésie shared her expertise on optimizing daily expenses, building structured savings plans, and thinking strategically about long-term financial growth. The discussion went beyond theory, offering practical advice tailored to the realities of young professionals and students navigating life far from home. Participants were encouraged to rethink their relationship with money, adopt disciplined habits, and approach investment with knowledge and confidence.

One of the most significant achievements of the webinar was its ability to break taboos surrounding financial discussions. Money, often considered a sensitive topic, became a space for open dialogue and shared learning. By creating a safe and educational environment, SAMBA-CORÉE enabled members to ask questions freely and confront financial misconceptions without judgment.

The online format also allowed the association to reach a broader audience, including members living outside the capital who are not always able to attend in-person activities. This inclusivity strengthened the sense of national cohesion within the community and ensured equal access to valuable resources.

Today, the impact of the webinar is already visible. Members demonstrate increased financial awareness, improved budgeting discipline, and a growing motivation to invest in ambitious personal projects. Through initiatives like this, SAMBA-CORÉE continues to position itself not only as a cultural and social platform, but also as a catalyst for personal development and long-term empowerment.
